Translation as inclusion?

چکیده
Abstract International NGOs (INGOs) are important agents in delivering the UN’s sustainable development agenda, but their linguistic practices have received little attention field of language policy and planning. This article aims to add new insights by exploring link between INGOs’ organisational value inclusiveness institutional approaches translation. It does so through a case study Oxfam GB’s Tearfund’s translation documents. The analysis reveals that documents focus on written into handful lingua francas. In other words, they largely overlook need for interpreting from local languages. addition, do not make any overt links principles (linguistic) summarises advantages drawbacks creating policy, provides guidance linking more overtly values inclusiveness.

ترجمه بخشی از کتاب translation as a profession (حرفه ترجمه)
Representing embeddability as set inclusion
A few steps are made towards representation theory of embeddability among uncountable graphs. A monotone class of graphs is defined by forbidding countable subgraphs, related to the graphs end-structure. Using a combinatorial theorem of Shelah it is proved: The complexity of the class in every regular uncountable A > Mi is at least A+ + sup{/x : jx+ < A} For all regular uncountable A > Mi there...
متن کاملInclusion of large input corpora in Statistical Machine Translation
In recent years, the availability of large, parallel, bilingual corpora has gone untapped by the statistical machine learning community. The crux of the problem lies in the inherent linearity of the traditional machine-translation algorithms, which impedes easy inclusion of new, large input corpora. However, it has been speculated [1] that there exists a log-linear relationship between the trai...
متن کاملThe Euler Equations as a Differential Inclusion
In this paper we propose a new point of view on weak solutions of the Euler equations, describing the motion of an ideal incompressible fluid in R with n ≥ 2. We give a reformulation of the Euler equations as a differential inclusion, and in this way we obtain transparent proofs of several celebrated results of V. Scheffer and A. Shnirelman concerning the non-uniqueness of weak solutions and th...
متن کاملRefinement as Inclusion of Predicates over Programs
An approach to refinement is described: (1) formalize the syntax and semantics of the target programming language; (2) specify the requirements by defining a predicate over programs that characterizes the possible implementations; (3) refine the specification stepwise by defining monotonically decreasing predicates over programs, according to decisions that narrow down the possible implementati...
